About Short Films

"These songs each represent a visual/emotional memory connected to the place and time where they were written; whether in the remote areas of Eastern Oregon, the San Francisco Bay area, Europe or Mexico.  Hopefully, they will provide your imagination with a vision of your own creation.

Rob Thomas has been a friend and performing partner since our days in music school at the University of Oregon in the early 70s. Rob introduced me to Michael Bard in 1980 while we were playing in clubs less than a block from each other in Eugene, OR. At the time, Rob was playing bass on tour with the Simon and Bard Group, whose members apparently liked my album "Welcome Aliens" that had just come out and prominently featured Rob on his first recorded violin solos. Michael and I became friends, and after he moved to Portland from Chicago we began playing together regularly. Here is a taste of many years of playing original music together. I'd also like to thank these two specifically for their unfailing brilliance, musicianship, and willingness to invest their talent in my music.

I also want to thank Forrest Faubion and Carl Pennington for their faith in my music and for helping me to reach audiences both live and on the radio."
